Why are you constantly exhausted even though you meditate, sleep eight hours, and drink your green juice? Why does your body feel ubos na ubos (completely depleted) despite doing all the “right” spiritual routines?
Because your energetic architecture is leaking.
I like to look at the body as an engineering schematic. There is a literal plumbing system to your pain body and your chi. Holistic health expert Paul Chek perfectly describes the body as a “system of systems.” In his methodology, if your digestive system is inflamed, your stabilizing core muscles will literally shut down. The same mechanistic reality applies to your spiritual body. If one of your major energetic pipes is busted, it drains the entire system of systems. No amount of positive thinking will fix a broken pipe.
In Energetic Body Anatomy 201, we look at the four main inputs that fuel (or drain) your bio-spiritual vehicle:
- Natal Energy: This is your base, inherent frequency. Are you naturally a Water connector? A slow, enduring Earth sign? A fast, catalytic Fire? If you are a slow Earth soul forcing yourself to operate at a frantic Fire pace to survive capitalism, you will absolutely destroy your nervous system. You cannot shame yourself for how your soul was built to function.
- Land & Ecosystem: Where are you physically potted? The physical land, the water you drink, and the collective karma of the city you live in act as raw materials for your aura. If you are a desert fox trying to survive in the middle of a torrential ocean, you are going to suffer. You cannot shame a cactus for dying in a rainforest.
- Relational Cords: The people you spend the most time with are your “sluice gates.” They are the heavy plumbing pipes where energy enters and exits your system. Esther Perel, in her brilliant work Mating in Captivity, talks deeply about the tension of opposites in relationships—how we crave both grounding security and fiery eros. When you are entangled in relationships that lack balance, those cords become vampiric. If you are constantly exchanging energy with someone who depletes your baseline, your battery will die.
- Projects & Intentions: When you take on a massive project, a new business, or a heavy spell, you are literally pregnant with it. It occupies real estate in your aura. It lives in your womb or your gut. And when the project is over, you might feel a sudden, hollow emptiness—like a cocoon after the butterfly has hatched.
When you go through a massive life shift—a move, a breakup, a new career—your energetic body is fundamentally rewiring its plumbing. It has to detox. The I Ching (The Book of Changes) teaches us an incredible truth: success and failure can bring the exact same amount of stress to your system. Getting your dream job requires the same amount of energetic adaptation as getting fired. Both require a refractory period. Your body needs time to catch up to the new reality.

If your skin is breaking out, if your digestion is suddenly weird, or if you feel a strange heaviness in your bones after a big manifestation comes true, give your body grace. It is trying to vomit out the old construct to make room for the new one.
Healing isn’t just about repeating affirmations or drawing tarot cards; it’s looking at the cold, mechanistic reality of where your energy is actually flowing. If you want to run high-voltage spiritual frequencies, you need a body that can actually conduct the current.
